We have been invited inside of the dwelling. Despite the wind outside, inside was calm as if it was a brick solid house. It was dark but I could distinguish the partitioned bedroom and fire pit. The girl who lived there was very proud of it. All dwellings that we visited had a fire pit inside, and only a small window for the exhaust. Locals explained this by the risks of animals crawling in. Generally the insides of all the dwellings were pretty smokey.
Day 1 of tribal tour brought us to Neshipa Eco Camp, outside of Archers Post. A lovely tour of the local manyatta introduced us to the beautful, friendly and welcoming Samburu tribe.
