At the end of our tribal tour, returning to Archer’s Post, we stopped to watch a rather large group of female ostriches (no males in sight). We noticed a difference of coloring between (the male) ostrich of the North and South of Kenya. The Northern male ostrich has a bluish leg coloring and are Somali ostrich. The Southern male ostrich has pinkish leg coloring and are Masai ostrich.
Samburu Tribe? Shepherd on the side of the road from Marsabit to Archers Post. This is an incredibly common sight on so many levels: A child tending livestock. Tending livestock on the side of the road/highway. Waving hello to passing strangers.
Family walking on side of the road. Another very common sight are people sitting/standing/walking on the side of the road, seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
